How does it work?
A payment is due in advance according to the agreement of the online mixing session. Charges are per song. For more than one song, it is up to the customer whether they want to pre-pay for further songs after receipt of the first song mix.
Delivery of the files:
All files can be delivered by FTP upload. For this service, a server is available which can be personally accessed for each finished online mixing session. Alternatively, the files can be delivered by post/courier on DVD-ROM.
Number of tracks, formats:
The basic variant is limited to 48 tracks per session, the Premium variant to 64 tracks. For mixes with a higher number of tracks, conditions must be agreed upon separately. All tracks must be legible and clearly marked. Different instruments may not be bundled together on one track (ex.. TRACK 1 may not be bundled up:: in the 1st verse: Guitar, in the 2nd verse: Pianos etc). all main tracks should be available as single tracks. All additional tracks such as Bg vocals, horns, DJ cuts, or Special EFX should be premixed and delivered as separate stereo tracks. All tracks should be consolidated, bounced and have the same starting point, unless a Pro Tools session is delivered. Tracks with effects or tracks on which sound processors have been used whose final sound is of substantial importance, should be delivered both as dry tracks (without effect) and processed tracks (with effect). All tracks should have the same format, (ex.. "sampling rate") and the bit rate for all tracks should be the same. WAV, AIFF or SD II files in 24 or 16 bits and 44.1 or 48 kHz are usually used. It is also possible to work with higher resolutions. For mixes in higher resolutions, conditions must be agreed upon separately.
To achieve an optimal mix result, it is always an advantage to have as reference a rough mix available, in addition to the single tracks. The sound quality of a rough mix is not important. An imperfect, poor sounding rough mix often helps to understand the ideas/conceptions of the artist/producer better and thus prevents the mix from possibly going in the wrong direction. If you have a particular sound in mind that reminds you of a particular artist or time period, please provide a sound sample, or just explain it to me.
It is important to provide a list of possible desired corrections by the artist/producer after careful examination of the mixes. It is recommended to listen to the mix on one or more sound systems. A first revision (ex. implementation of the initial desired corrections), is already included in the price. Further possible corrections come at an additional price. After the final mix, additional instrumental or "a capella" mixes can be provided. Both mixes are included in the original price.
After a mixing session:
The finished mix can be accessed in the FTP server with a provided password. The password will be deleted and access no longer granted 14 days after delivery of a mixing session.
